Medical Emergency

This department deals with emergency outpatient treatment predominantly of patients who arrive by ambulance. Doctors from this department cooperate with specialists from all other departments to offer treatment 24/7. They principally treat emergency cases of stroke, cardiac and respiratory disorders, and cancer. Specialists also manage paediatric and obstetrics and gynaecological emergencies.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Department have following standard operating procedures (SOPs):

  • To immediately provide medical aid to each patient in emergency
  • In case of more than one patients visiting emergency simultaneously, preference will be given to more sick patient
  • The Medical Officer on duty will record all information of patient e.eg Patient Name, CNIC, Address, Contact No. , Date, Diagnose and vital in register
  • In case of patient referral Medical Officer on duty will make referral form of the patient clearly mentioning THQ name and His Signature along with stamp and time of refer
  • CMO will record referring details on register as well
  • In case of receiving a dead body, it is responsibility of CMO to properly record clinical history of patient’s death on register
  • Dead body will be handed over to next of kin only after getting signature from concerned family
  • In emergency all those patients will be checked who incurred with serious causality, sickness and fights accidently
  • OPD patients will not be checked in emergency so patients will seasonal flu and fever should get checkup in OPD
